A rare and original Campagnolo issued catalogue number 17 circa 1974. No vintage Campagnolo collection is truly complete without this legendary tome. A total of 96 pages, spiral bound with thick cardboard covers and laminated dividers, with no pages missing. Often used for spare part number references, it has some gorgeous exploded diagrams of the entire product line. Even features a page on NASA, racing automobiles, and the illusive Campy tennis racket (HMU if you have one). Also covers the First generation Super Record, Record, Gran Sport, Pista, Valentino, and Rally gruppos, Tools including the highly coveted tool kit and work stand, and Gear ratio building charts. The condition of the book is used. It is by no means a gem, but it is complete and useable. Some pages look great, but this was used for many years in a bike shop and it shows it. There is dog earring on many if not all pages, corners are worn, there are small tears throughout but mainly on the covers, front cover has been folded a little, there are very light grease and water (or coffee) stains through out. The LBS this came out of suffered a few floods in it’s day, so in addition to the aforementioned wear there are some very small signs of mold or mildew damage throughout the book, though, a lot of pages are devoid of any of these signs. They’re back and better then ever! This listing is for a pair of long cages for use in converting your older short cage Campy Rear derailleur. The cages are modeled after those that were used on the last generation Rally derailleur, But, these are longer than earlier Rallys, so they will wrap more chain and give you additional range & reach than the earlier series cage. These will fit Nuovo Record, Nuovo Gran Sport, and Rally…. However, These would require modification if you need them to fit the old Gran Sport, Old Record, or. They Make these cages to retrofit old Campy-equipped bikes and to make them more practical. These beautiful replicas are based on the last generation Campy Rally long cages. They allow you to run up to a 32t cog in the rear with a 38t chain wrap capacity depending on your dropouts. Works with all the Record, Nuovo Record, Super Record, GS and Rally models for the 70’s/80’s. The finish is satin silver. May not be compatible to 60’s Era Record, due to thread difference. Note the satin finish is not a match to Super Record, but nice. See my other listing for polished version for a more upscale look. For 60’s record, It may just be a matter of enlarging the receiving threads for the pulley bolts. Here is some additional information, that might help if your specific vintage derailleur model is not listed. We built these cages to retrofit some great older Campagnolo equipped bikes and make them practical. The idea was simple, take an existing Campy deraillerur and retrofit the cage plates with longer one. These beautiful 7075 Aluminum replicas are designed using the classic Campagnolo Rally first generation (part # 3452 and 3453 cage plates) rear derailleur long cages and uses the length of the last Generation Rally derailleur which is 1cm longer. This was done to give the maximum range of gearing capacity to a Campagnolo Nuovo Record, Super Record, GS, and Rally derailleur of the 70s and 80s. The Campagnolo compatible cage plates allow you to run up to a 32 tooth cog in the rear, and with a 38T chain wrap capacity, depending on your dropouts. The finish is satin. The color is close to a NR or SR anodized plates but not an exact aesthetic match. There are no markings on the cage plates. The cage is threaded at 5x. 08 to work with Campagnolo pulley bolts with the inner cage plate threaded to 6x. 075 to bolt onto the Campagnolo Gear Spring bolt.
