The Gios name is one of the great pillars in Italian cycling history and culture, and the Gios Torino Super Record. Is a true monument of its time. This bike has one of the greatest records of all. This record is mainly thanks to. A former Belgian racer for the Brooklyn Team who was nicknamed Monsieur Paris-Roubaix. He rode the bike to many’Monument’ race victories. Something else that is very interesting about this bike which many people might not know, is that it was built in a series of three different versions between 1973 and 1982. All were built within years of each other, and yet each generation had very slightly different aspects. In 1978 Gios built a. Of the first generation bike. The only major difference was aesthetic, as they added white stickers on the seat tube and the down tube. The frame size is 55cm ctt. The top tube is just over 54cms ctc. The frame is straight and true but does have a slight nick in the top tube – I have tried to photo this but it is so small it wont show up in the photos. There are no other dents. The colour scheme is the famous Gios blue. I would rate the paintwork as 6/10 as there are quite a few paint chips but this bike is a long way off needing a repaint an it is great vintage condition with some patina. Overall, not bad for a 40 year old bike! The bike comes with 3ttt pantographed stem and Cinelli bars. It has Galli shifters, front and rear mech and Campagnolo Record hubs with tubs where the rubber is perishing. The chainset is Ofmega Panto with rare Ofmega Master bottom bracket. The seat post is also Nuovo Record and is fully pantographed – it has not been cut but is quite short. The levers are also Galli but I have replaced the brakes with a set of Modolo Miche which will need slight adjustment. If you want, you are welcome to the original Galli brakes and Miche brake levers so you will have 2 complete sets. This bike is in vintage condition and with any 40+ year old bike I wouldn’t recommend riding as hard as a modern bike and I would recommend a full service by a qualified mechanic.
