Very rare complete road bike for sale, from the master framebuilder Licinio Marastoni. Known for his pioneering work with cast fork crowns and bottom bracket shells, Marastoni’s work is marked by his attention to detail, clean lugwork and distinctive use of braze-ons. Only his top frames were given the name’Marco’, named in memory of his late son. These were custom made and given only to trusted customers. I would estimate this one is from the early 1980s. This particular example measures a square 54x54cm with a 100mm stem. A very versatile road bike for anyone looking for a real piece of history. The bike is fitted out with a Campagnolo Super Record groupset, with a derailleur from 1983 and a crankset from 1986. With 6 speed Regina Oro freewheel. Headset, seatpost and brake levers (with hoods in good condition) also all Super Record. Brake spindle nuts have been upgraded to aluminium. Campagnolo Record wheelset, 28 holes front and rear. Super Champion Arc-en-Ciel rims, radial spoked front and 2x rear with DT Swiss stainless spokes. Selle San Marco Concor Superleggera saddle with aluminium rails. Ambrosio stem and bars, with Gimondi bend. Navy blue cloth tape from Velox. Really a very nice example, the only negatives are some damage to the downtube decal on the drive side. Everything else is in top condition, chrome is bright and paint is intact. All components work well, frame is straight and there are no dents. Seat tube c-c: 54cm. Seat tube c-t: 55.5cm.
