For sale is a beautiful, original condition, 1978 Colnago Mexico Reparto Corse, meanining, it is not an oridinary Colnago Mexico, but a custom, tailored Colnago, made for race. It features many cutouts and drilling besides the usual Colnago pantography. The bike is completely equipped with Campagnolo Super Record components with pantography on the seatpost, stem, chainring, crankset and brake levers. The rear derailleur has been swaped with an identical Pat 78 Super Record derailleur because the original one was hit and wasn’t functioning properly. The paint and decals are original and show this wasn’t a display bike. Still, this Colnago has a beautifull spark and patina. The frame has been hand polished. The frame has no rust or dents. The components are in an excellent functional condition. The crank show some eloxation wear. The large chainring has some wear, but it has plenty of life in it. The brake levers show heavy scratches but they have been polished and still look great. For a clean look, I chose to rebuild the wheels with Campagnolo Super record 32 holes hubs, Hoshi double butted spokes and NOS Nisi Solidal rims, the lightest rims from the Solidal lineup of that period. A true and original bike for its era. Everything has been cleaned, lubricated and tuned.
