You are looking at a 1977 Gios Torino Super Record frameset in a Brooklyn team livery coming along with a Campagnolo Super Record wheelset – with Mavic Record de l’heure tubular rims and a Galli groupset. Gios Torino bicycle workshops became famous when their cycling machines were used by the Brooklyn team in 1973 – and especially by their most famous rider, Roger De Vlaeminck who won the Paris-Roubaix race four years in a row with this model. Hence the most sought after Gios framesets are those made between 1973 and 1977 which sport two distinctive structural features: an engraved bottom bracket shell with the letters “GT” and an engraved fork with the “GT” letters on both sides of the fork crown. The frame listed here has the following dimensions. Seat tube (center to center): 56.5cm. Seat tube (center to top): 58cm. Top tube (center to center): 55.5cm. Head tube heigh: 14cm. The wheelset is based on 32-spoke Campagnolo Super Record hubs and Mavic Record de l’Heure tubular rims. This combination of hubs, rims with a limited number of spokes makes this wheelset probably one of the lightest and most competitive one of that era. As for the groupset this is a beautifully crafted Galli. This complete set also comes with a 3ttt stem and handlebar – with the the original cotton bar tape still on… And in good condition!
