I’m offering up a 1980 or 1981 Eddy Merckx bicycle for sale. I’ve owned this bike for several years and really enjoy how it rides. The frame size is listed on the BB as 61cm, and it measures just over that to the top of the top tube. The length of the top tube is 58cm and the stem is 120mm. Stand over is right around 85mm (33.5 inches). The paint was redone by the previous owner, and it’s a nice looking Faema scheme still in good shape. There is paint damage on the bottom of the non-drive seat stay where the frame came in contact with another bike while in storage (the last picture of the Flickr link shows the damage). The bike looks great in red and white! The derailleurs, cranks, and seat post are Super Record; headset is Nuovo Record; shifters and brakes are Record. The wheels are slightly newer Mavic hubs with Mavic GEL 280 rims. The bar and stem are 3TTT (the bars are just over 42cm c-t-c). The brake levers are later model Campagnolo are the most “out of place” part. The frame has all of the features of an early Merckx. Merckx signature stay caps. Slotted BB shell (somewhat more unusual on the early bikes). De Rosa-like dropout treatment. The item “1981 Eddy Merckx Professional 61cm Campagnolo Super Record build” is in sale since Tuesday, August 27, 2019. This item is in the category “Sporting Goods\Cycling\Vintage Cycling\Vintage Bicycles”. The seller is “laffeaux” and is located in Boise, Idaho. This item can be shipped to United States, all countries in Europe, all countries in continental Asia, Canada, Mexico, Australia.
