This collection of bicycle parts needs little introduction. If you are reading this you will be aware of the history of the company and how this exquisite assortment of parts came to be. Taking a regular Super Record (Steel) groupset, Campagnolo set about creating something really special, through engraving all components and beautifully decorating dust caps and various bolts with 22 carat gold leaf. It is presented in excellent condition complete with its original bag, case and foam insert but is missing a couple of bits. The gear cables have been utilised and there is no paperwork and the very rare dust cap removal tool is not present. The parts have clearly been fitted to a bike in the past, but do not seem to have had much use. There is a little wear on the chainrings and jockey wheels, but overall it is in mechanically superb condition. The crankset, brake levers and calipers are all fabulous along with the mechs, shifters, pedals and hubs. There are some light scratches in a couple of places, but nothing that stands out or is particularly noticeable. Most of the chrome is in super condition with no pitting on any bolts, skewers or springs. There some minor insertion marks on the seatpost, but its in very good considering it been fitted. The gum hoods are newer replacements I think as original hoods would likely have degraded over time. There is some fitting wear and removal marks on the headset and a couple of chips to the chrome on the edge of the crown race, although it will be totally smooth in operation. The bottom bracket is in excellent shape and both come with a spare set of original bearings, however the plastic dust sleeve cannot be located. The toe clips have a little wear on the chrome and the hubs do show the signs of being built into a wheel, although they remain buttery smooth. The box itself has suffered some minor damaged on the sides and has a small split, so a little glue has been used in places, but overall it is in pretty decent shape With the price of NOS examples increasing this represents a nice opportunity.
